The Touchstone Energy Home Program, sponsored by Farmers RECC is a program designed to help make your new home more energy efficient through the use of heat pump and geothermal heating. A cooperative representative or contractor will be required to conduct a ‘Pre-Drywall Checklist.’ The home must also meet all prescriptive requirements of being a Touchstone Energy Home or an Energy Star New Home.
A post-construction blower door test will also be performed to verify that the home meets all required standards. Farmers RECC will need to see the plans for the home before construction begins. Farmers RECC will choose a technician from a list of pre-approved contractors that are able to perform a blower door test. If all requirements are met, members will receive a $750 rebate.
