Final Farmers RECC Outage Update

We are thrilled to say this is our final outage update, and our restoration efforts are mostly completed.  Most members who can be restored have received power. As the ice melts and temperatures rise, scattered outages will occur. Thawing ice can damage equipment and cause lines to gallop or cause already weakened tree limbs to fall onto power lines. Our crews remain on standby and are responding quickly to any new outages that arise.

Starting on Sunday, Winter Storm Fern left over 6,400 members without power and 34 broken poles across our entire system.

We want to take a moment to share our thanks to everyone involved in the restoration process.

We appreciate our members’ support and gracious words as we worked hard to restore power.

We also want to publicly thank our entire employee team as well. It takes all of us working together to restore service after an event such as this.

  • To our linemen for their tireless diligence and dedication to our members.

  • To our member service representatives, who answered member questions with the utmost degree of professionalism.

  • To the team who kept everyone fed and basic needs met, we couldn’t have managed without you.

  • To our dispatching team for keeping restoration moving efficiently.

  • To our fleet and warehousing personnel for keeping trucks running and stocked.

  • To the members of our team who handled daily tasks so the majority could focus on storm restoration.

We also want to thank our sister cooperatives for coming to our aid.

  • Clinton County Electric Cooperative

  • Coles-Moultrie Electric Cooperative

  • Menard Electric Cooperative

  • Monroe County Electric Cooperative

  • Inter-County Energy

  • 5 Star Electric

  • Glasgow Electric Plant Board

Farmers RECC released Coles-Moultrie Electric Cooperative, Menard Electric Cooperative and Monroe County Electric Cooperatives from Illinois this morning. They now travel to Tri-County Electric Cooperative's district office in Tompkinsville to assist them with restoration efforts.

We also want to thank our contracted Right-of-Way crews for their assistance during this event.

  • Townsend Tree Service

  • SteelRock Services, LLC.

In addition, we want to say a special thank you to Botts Table and Board, Between the Buns 42166, Danny and Teresa Bishop and Carl Dickerson for keeping our folks fed. Also, to the Days Inn in Glasgow, for helping accommodate our mutual aid crews.

We also want to specifically thank Glasgow Mayor, Henry Royse and Barren County Judge Executive, Jamie Bewley Byrd for their diligence in helping us clear roadways and set up roadblocks so our crews can work safely.

We also appreciate our directors, media partners, local businesses, and residents who offered help in any way. This kind of teamwork is what makes our local communities so strong.

Lastly, we want to say a special ‘Thank You’ to our families. We understand the stress placed on our spouses, parents, grandparents, and friends when we have to miss family time or special occasions because the lights go out. We appreciate your efforts to keep the home fires burning in our absence.

Thank you,

Farmers RECC Management Team
