Farmers RECC Lights Up Christmas!
Each year, Farmers RECC sponsors the “Lighting Up Christmas” program for a school in their service territory. The program, coordinated by the Events Team at Farmers RECC, gathers unwrapped toys and monetary donations for a school in their service territory to use for students in need.
The school chosen to receive donations in the 2017 Christmas season was Metcalfe County Elementary School in Metcalfe County.
Throughout the year, staff members at Metcalfe County work with the Family Resource Office to identify families that might have a need for essential items like shoes, shirts, socks, coats and food.
During the 2017 ‘Lighting Up Christmas’ program, Farmers RECC employees and members donated more than $1,500 to give to Metcalfe County Elementary as well as several unwrapped toys, books and stuffed animals.
